THE ART
 
This sketch is inspired by a visit to the charming ancient town of Hoi An. As soon as the sun sets, the innumerable lanterns make this little old trading port come to life. 
 
 
THE TECHNIQUE
 
The original sketch was meticulously created with pencil and fine liners on paper, before being digitally coloured. The artist aimed to evoke a sense of lightness throughout the piece, drawing inspiration from water colour style, digitally emphasising transparency, layering, and texture to evoke the classic medium's qualities in a modern format.
